Hello! Welcome to Pepita Viajera
My name is Yolanda and I’m a teacher, illustrator and traveler: one of those who hangs up her backpack, feels a destination, gets a round-trip ticket and doesn’t need much more.
One day, coming back from one of those trips, I got into my painting “workshop” and looking at the pine trees that surround it, I started to think about how I could unite these three passions that I have.

So I took my pencil and drew her and, since that day, more than ten years ago, Pepita travels with me everywhere…

A girl with two ponytails, yellow boots and a big, red backpack was looking at me and smiling.
It was then that I closed my eyes for a moment and when I opened them I saw two pigtails peeking through the pines. I stood watching, like a traveler, and then she appeared….
We meet wonderful people
We’ve learned the customs in the places we’ve visited
We’ve painted what we feel
We’ve learned from the artists we’ve seen
...and we've made projects together to feel connected and united with the world
Of course, it doesn’t end there. Then we go to the classroom and tell the kids everything we have learned. Now Pepita is known to all the children in my school.
I will never forget that day when a little girl looked at me, with eyes shining as if she had discovered the greatest treasure in the world, and told me:
And since you meet so many people on a trip… Now we are preparing a new adventure with a group of friends: Amaya, Jose, Dani, Pepita and me to know how infinite the world is and how much we are going to learn from it.
